The eCF Alliance project reached its half-way point. After 18 months we are now ready to feed the web-platform with training contents and enlarge the eCF Alliance. The first set of Learning units has been delivered; now it is time for the second set and to share our vision through national workshops and seminars. It is also time to create a learners' community.

The second partners' transnational meeting took place successfully in Spain

On 7 – 9 June, all partners of the eCF Council got together at the polytechnic campus of the University of Alcalá, Spain, for the second eCF partners transnational meeting.

DIGIFRAME

The European Commission and the consortium partners Capgemini Consulting, Empirica and IDC kicked-off a new initiative that will propose an integrated digital organisational reference framework that connects digital organisational capabilities and supporting frameworks on the one hand with IT competences and professionalism at individual level on the other hand.

In March the European Commission released the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI) 2017, a composite index that summarises relevant indicators on Europe’s digital performance and tracks the evolution of EU Member States (MSs) in digital competitiveness yearly.

Revision of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) adopted by the Council


On 24 May the Education, Youth, Culture and Sport Council has published its "Recommendation on the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning and repealing the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2008 on the establishment of the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.

Full-scale version of ESCO coming soon


The European Commission is now preparing the release of ESCO v1, expected for mid-2017. To ensure that ESCO continues being fit for purpose after its release in 2013, the Commission services have developed a continuous improving process which includes several steps, methods and actors.

The eCF Council Project is moving forward


By releasing the first set of eCompetence Learning Units, an important step forward for the project has been made. Six e-Competences Qualification Profiles have been translated into Learning Unit sets, describing learning objectives and outcomes, learning contents, educational resources and evidences for competence assessment purpose.

The concrete aim of the eCF Alliance is to offer an online training and reach out to potential users. The success of project depends on the ability of users to find and access relevant and high quality learning material.
