The eCF Council Project is moving forward

21 June 2017

Partners active in WP4 - Learning Unit Sets have made great progress.

By releasing the first set of eCompetence Learning Units, an important step forward for the project has been made. Six of the e-Competences Qualification Profiles developed in WP3 (Vocational Qualification and certification standard) -identified in accordance with the market needs survey and the ICT Professionalism Transnational Frame defined in WP2- have been translated into Learning Unit sets, describing learning objectives and outcomes, learning contents, educational resources and evidences for competence assessment purpose.

The most challenging and valuable result achieved is the methodological approach defined to set up a common frame consistent with the European e-Competence Framework.  This aims to be a reference for both training and learning paths and for recognition and further certification of prior learning, such as job and life experiences, in a reliable and transparent way.

The six Competences developed by the Project key partners (FPM - Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, leading the whole Project and specifically Work Package 4, Adfor, bITa, Cefriel, ESICEE, UAH) are:

  • A1 - IS and Business Strategy Alignment,

  • A6 - Application Design,

  • A7 - Technology Trend Monitoring,

  • B3 - Testing,

  • D2 - ICT Quality Strategy Development and

  • E8 - Information Security Management, as defined in the European e-Competence Framework.

The next step will be to make the structure -as well as the Learning Unit plans and the related content for each analysed Competence- available on a public internet platform and tested through pilot face-to-face and interactive sessions.

The outcome of the experimentation and the feedback from the external experts will provide the information to improve and finalise the training.

Furthermore a second set of Learning Units concerning nine additional competences will be developed.
